Career
As a high school senior, Kyle witnessed the horror of the attacks on the United States when radical Islamic terrorists hijacked and flew American planes into the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia.
Four planes were hijacked on September 11, 2001, and three of them hit their mark causing tremendous damage and heartache for the many families directly involved and all Americans. Almost 3,000 people were killed that day. Many Americans watched the horror unfold on their television that morning.
After the tragic events of 9/11, Kyle Saltz felt moved by the vicious and unprovoked attack and he determined to do his part to protect his country and fellow Americans. Kyle joined the Army in 2002.
Kyle became a counterintelligence agent proudly serving 11 years in the Army. During those years, he was deployed multiple times to Afghanistan, serving under difficult and dangerous conditions. Today, he continues to serve as an Army Reserve Counterintelligence Agent. Upon joining the Army Reserves, Kyle was required to go through basic training again, at age 40, and still had the highest physical fitness score than any other male in his platoon. He also accepted a loss of rank in order to return to the Army and continue his service as a soldier.
With a strong instinct to defend others, Kyle was drawn to law enforcement upon leaving the military. He has worked for Hanford Patrol for the last 8 years. He is part of the Tactical Response Team.
Kyle and his wife have made Richland their home and plan to continue working and giving back in this city for many years.
